ABOUT MICHAEL MARTIN

Certified Public Accountant who prepared tax returns for individuals, partnerships and corporations and audited for profit entities, not for profits, counties, school districts, public universities, and employee benefit plans in a 12 year career in public accounting in Jackson, MS and Tupelo, MS. Employed from August, 2008 until November, 2012 as Assistant Comptroller of Lee County, MS. Responsibilities included external financial reporting (including preparation of financial statements, notes to financial statements and Management\'s Discussion and Analysis) and varioius other administrative responsibilities. I was named Business Manager at Lee County Schools in Tupelo, MS in November, 2012. The business office handles payroll, employee benefits, accounts payable and accounts receivable and is responsible for all financial reporting and maintaining fixed asset records. Lee County Schools has an annual budget of over $65 million and employs almost With approximately students, LCS is the 12th largest district in Mississippi. I have served on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants\'(AICPA) State and Local Government Expert Panel and the AICPA\'s Governmental Performance and Accountability Committee. I am also a current member of the Government Accounting and Auditing Committee of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants (past Chairman). I am also a member (and past President) of the Northeast Chapter of the MSCPA.
