ABOUT MICHAEL EGBERTS

I am a structural engineer providing innovative, appropriate and cost effective structural engineering services to clients of Egberts Engineering Limited. Our services include feasibility studies, preliminary design, new construction, renovation, retrofit design, historic restoration, damage investigation, review for compliance with the Ontario Building Code, and structural review of construction. We provide these services to clients in residential, institutional, industrial and commercial sectors. Within residential construction, we provide services within single family homes, multi-residence buildings, and buildings that have a mixed-use (including commercial/residential). I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of team members including owners, architects, designers, builders, sub-contractors, municipalities, and businesses. These services have been as small as a single site visit and as large as providing a full structural service for a construction project. These projects utilize a variety of building materials common to construction projects in Ontario including wood, steel, masonry, concrete, aluminum, glass, and engineered products. I participate in a variety of professional development activities which further my knowledge of structural engineering, the Ontario Building Code, consulting engineering, business management, technology, and information management. I also try to remain active with relevant associations including Professional Engineers Ontario and the Ontario Regional Group of the Institution of Structural Engineers.
