The EU restricts 1.400 ingredients from products, and Canada restricts 600. The US only restricts 30. After stage IV ovarian cancer, I began to decrease my toxic load and looked for products that were EWG verified. If it goes onto your skin then it goes into your bloodstream. I happened upon a Beautcounter booth one day, and tried a sample. I ultimately ordered from them and fell in love. They lobby to get ingredients out of our products, and the products work! I am on a mission to help educate others and help them switch their products.

ABOUT MICHAELE SALAZAR
Michaele MSHRD, is currently the Chief Administrative Officer (COA) of the DRTCI and a Consultant for Beautycounter. She served as the DRTCI’s Director of Membership for over two years before taking on this role. Prior to that, she spent 14 years working as a scientist for Roche Diagnostics before switching careers, after obtaining her Master’s in Human Resource Development. She is a United States Air Force Veteran, has a passion for DEI, and has been doing DEI work in various capacities for over seven years. She completed a one-year AmeriCorps VISTA contract as a Human Resource Specialist. While working at Roche, she served for 2 years as the Partnerships Chair for the Veteran Business Resource Group, was actively involved in all of the Roche BRGs, and interned in D&I during her last semester of earning her HRD graduate degree. She holds a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from the USF Office of Corporate Training and Professional Education. She is DISC certified and is a RYT® 200, yoga instructor with continuing education in trauma informed yoga. Michaele also earned a certificate from completing Yale University’s course, The Science of Well Being. For fun, she likes to spend time with family and friends, write, travel, bike, and run distance races.
