Michael Wellendorf, MPA is a government relations professional focused on advancing the public policy agenda of Akron Children’s Hospital at the local, state and federal level. Based in Cleveland, Michael develops and implements government relations strategies that advance Akron Children’s organizational mission, and improves the quality of care for patients and families in Ohio. Akron Children\'s is consistently ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the country and operates 2 hospitals in northeast Ohio and 50 urgent, primary and specialty care locations. With more than a million patient visits a year, Akron Children\'s has been leading the way to healthier futures for children through quality patient care, education, advocacy, community service and medical discovery since 1890.Prior to his current role, Michael was a Regional Representative for the Ohio Treasurer of State’s Office, working under multiple State Treasurers. He started his career in state government as an intern for former Ohio Governor George Voinovich, who subsequently hired Michael to manage his advance team.Michael holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University, and serves as a member of the Levin College Visiting Committee. The Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs is recognized as one of the best public affairs colleges in the nation according to the US News & World Report.
