ABOUT MICHAEL DE RUBEIS P. ENG

I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to explore a variety of industries as a professional engineer, accredited by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO), in the last 10 years. From nuclear power and automotive manufacturing in my early days to food processing water distribution most recently. Each experience had unique goals and deliverables, but there has also been a lot of overlap in skills used and thus fine-tuned- Identifying and implementing efficiencies: As most of my roles related to process or industrial engineering, I’ve had formal training and extensive real-world experience in lean processing methodologies including: Kaizen events, failure prevention, value-stream manufacturing, and Six Sigma, among others- Managing projects and leading people: Working with both unionized and professional team members, I’ve been able to align individual goals to meet those of the project and resolve conflicting situations. I’ve also led and supported the advancement of new projects and processes from their conceptualization to full implementation by leveraging my formal business training- Effective communication and training of peers: I’m not one to shy away from a crowd and consider one of the most important aspects of my career to be the mentoring of my peers and subordinates- Outside-the-box thinking: I’ve offered innovative solutions to complex problems over the years based on my engineering and business acumen. Creating solutions is both my passion and strongest skill. I take great pride in exploring the ‘what if’ and executing a plan through to its success.
