Contribute to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adhere to department policies, procedures, quality & safety standards. • Provide direct patient care activities under the supervision of the nursing or medical staff and according to department/hospital policy. • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL\'s) & personal hygiene • Collect specimens (e.g, blood, urine, sputum, stool); perform venipuncture/phlebotomy; set-up & obtain EKGs; and insert intravenous (IV) catheters, chang IV sites and dressings, and inspect IV sites. • Assist in the measurement and documentation of patient’s vital signs, height and weight, pulse oximetry, finger sticks for glucose monitoring/Accucheck, & visual acuity. • Perform routine sterile and aseptic treatments/activities inclusive of but not limited to: in-dwelling and Foley catheter insertion and removal; simple dressing changes and wound care; turning and positioning; & postmortem care and transportation of bodies to the morgue. • Maintain the comfort, privacy & confidentiality, & dignity of each patient in the delivery of services. • Perform patient observation duty with behavioral health patients, including 1:1 observation. • Prepare patients to be seen by providers. • Assist providers and registered nurses in patient examinations and procedures. • \"Rounding\" on patients based on established standards. • Report actual and potential problems concerning patients/families - including changes in the patient\'s condition/symptoms - to the registered nurse and other care team members as necessary. • Initiate and assist in CPR when indicated (Code Blue situations). • Complete errands such as delivering specimens to the laboratory, etc. • Support all staff in order to provide the highest quality of patient care.

An emergency responder by training - I am a hardworking, compassionate, experienced healthcare worker with a background working with a critically-injured and ill patient population in the ER. I thrive on adrenaline, genuine human connections, and positive energy. Most of my experience is in an Emergency Room (ER) setting, I also volunteered on the Trauma Resuscitation Unit (TRU) at UMMC R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Before getting into medicine, I worked in the film industry, doing special effects make-up/hair/prosthetics and various other crew work.
