About Michael Jansen

Michael Jansen is an architect, technologist, and serial entrepreneur operating at the intersection of design, AI, and the built environment. For more than two decades, he has founded and scaled high-growth companies across the U.S. and Asia, consistently working at the forefront of architectural innovation and digital transformation.Michael studied architecture at Yale University (’91) and the University of Cambridge (’90) and was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship (’94–’95), during which he conducted extensive research on traditional and modern Indian architecture across the country. He subsequently worked as an architect in India and China, leading the Asia practices of two major U.S. international architecture firms between 1995 and 2004. In 2004, he founded one of the first large-scale BIM services companies in India, backed by Sequoia Capital. The company grew to more than 600 employees within four years, helping global AEC firms transition into the digital era.Today, Michael serves as Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer of TwinMaster™, an AI-native digital twin platform often described as “ChatGPT for Architects.”. TwinMaster is building the cross-platform AI intelligence layer for the AEC industry — embedding multi-objective reasoning, simulation, and predictive insight directly inside the world’s leading design and engineering tools. Under his leadership, TwinMaster is forging partnerships with major global software platforms while advancing a new cognitive infrastructure for how buildings are conceived, optimized, and operated.Michael has been featured on CNN, CNBC, Cheddar News, and the BBC, and in leading global business and AEC publications, including Forbes, TechCrunch, Fast Company, Inc, Business Week, ENR, Architectural Record, and many others. He was named to Building Design + Construction’s “40 Under 40,” honored as a World Cities Summit Young Leader in Singapore for contributions to sustainable urban development, and received a Chicago Innovation Award for pioneering work in digital twin technology. The Excellence Group named Michael CEO of the Year in 2022. A father of three, Michael speaks Mandarin and Hindi, has traveled to more than 90 countries studying architecture and cities, swims regularly, meditates daily, reads voraciously, and plays the guitar.
