For 25 years I have been the person who figured it out — the architect, the builder, the one who made complex data systems work. I am genuinely good at that work, and I am proud of it. But, I am ready to give back, to mentor, to lead.I am the leader who helps people toward things they could not accomplish without strong direction, the right resources, and someone who has earned the right to support and challenge them. That is what I am pursuing now — deliberately and honestly. The last several years have been about doing exactly what that requires: advocating for enterprise technology governance, making investment cases to senior leadership, and investing in the next generation of geospatial professionals.    Note: Officially titled GIS Manager; role encompasses full enterprise technology platform, data infrastructure, and team mentorship)Lead a 10+ person technology team delivering data infrastructure, analytics platforms, and enterprise systems for one of the world\'s largest humanitarian relief organizations, with active operations across dozens of countries.I personally built much of what this team now operates — a 24-server enterprise platform across DEV/STAGING/PROD, automated ETL pipelines, real-time satellite data integrations, and executive-facing analytical dashboards that support disaster response decision-making in the field.What this role has taught me about leadership:I built a case for a GIS Center of Excellence — including governance documentation, Decision Rights structures, and technology roadmaps. That work required strategic framing and executive communication, not just technical skill.Mentor a 10+ person team while also carrying much of the technical load has shown me clearly where I want to grow: into roles where I develop the team\'s capability rather than personally executing it.Presenting technology proposals to leadership — and learning what it takes to be persuasive — has been some of the most valuable preparation for the next level of my career.This is the role where I became ready to lead at scale. Now I am looking for the opportunity to do it.
