As Acting Ambassador (through May 2025) and as DCM, I have led a 1,500+ person diplomatic mission, comprised of more than four dozen agencies across Embassy Ankara, consulates in Istanbul and Adana, and constituent posts in Izmir and Gaziantep.• Provided strategic direction on rapidly evolving Syria policy; lead negotiations, in coordination with CENTCOM, concerning U.S. troops and U.S-supported Kurdish forces in northeast Syria.• Enhanced coordination with Türkiye, a key NATO ally, on Ukraine, while enforcing U.S. sanctions; support continued reconciliation between Türkiye and Greece; promote normalization with Armenia.• Facilitated the sale of 100 Boeing aircraft to a private Turkish air carrier; am overseeing purchase of advanced F-16 fighter aircraft to the Turkish Air Force.• Oversaw the late 2024 evacuation of nearly U.S. citizens from Lebanon.
