ABOUT MICHAELA TURNER
I am a fourth-year double major in Psychology and Public Affairs at UCLA, with the long-term goal of pursuing a PhD in Clinical Psychology. I am particularly interested in forensic and adolescent psychology, with a focus on understanding mental health through an intersectional lens.Through my academic training, research opportunities, and clinical experiences I have developed a strong commitment to addressing racial and gender inequities within mental health systems, especially as they intersect with the justice system. These experiences have strengthened my ability to approach research and clinical settings with adaptability, empathy, and cultural humility, while emphasizing the importance of community-informed perspectives alongside intervention.
