Big Sky Studios is the info structure that Manitoba needed to move the film industry in the province to the next level. Being involved from concept to an open facility we now have a square foot facility that has 4 stages to service production. As well as support space including Mill & Paint, Wardrobe, Set Dec and offices.I was brought on this project to work with ownership and spear head the construction phase of a 30 million dollar facility that encompassed a retrofit of the existing building as well as the construction of 2 purpose built sound stages.My role also included introducing us to the Manitoba film community and networking with the local producers, Manitoba Film and Music, City of Winnipeg Film office, Directors Guild of Manitoba, IATSE local 856 as well as the local vendors. To liaison with Government as this project was the info structure needed to drive job creation in Manitoba.
