Mike Tamburro – Risk Management & Production Safety Expert; Mike Tamburro is a seasoned expert in Risk Management, EHS, and Production Safety within the entertainment industry. In 2023, amidst industry strikes, he founded Take 2 R&S LLC, a consulting firm dedicated to enhancing safety across major studios and production companies. Take 2’s clients include Netflix, Apple, Apple TV, Lionsgate, among others. Mike’s journey in production safety has been shaped by leadership roles at The Walt Disney Company (20••••21), where he oversaw multiple productions and global aviation acceptance, and Warner Bros.(20••••23). His aviation expertise dates back to the late 1980s, learning to fly under his father, Mike Sr, at West Coast Helicopters. Growing up on the sets of True Lies and Outbreak, he pursued his passion for aviation and film, earning both fixed-wing and rotorcraft ratings by age 18. He later worked alongside industry pioneers like his uncle, Chuck Tamburro, a legend in aerial stunts and film flying. In 2014, Mike returned to Van Nuys Airport as VP Head of Production at Helinet Aviation, overseeing its ENG, Charter, EMS, and Production divisions. He also played a key role at Shotover Camera Systems, managing sales and development of cutting-edge aerial camera platforms, including the K1, F1, and U1 drone systems.A SAG-AFTRA member since 2004, Mike has served as an Aerial Coordinator and Production Safety Consultant on hundreds of commercials, TV shows, and Feature Films. With his deep industry knowledge, hands-on experience, and unwavering commitment to safety, he represents the next generation of EHS and production safety professionals in Hollywood.
