   My name is Michael Eugene Taggart. I would like to briefly review my background in the hope that I can obtain a tryout/transfer scholarship for your basketball program next fall season of 2024.I\'m originally from Baltimore, Maryland. I was born July 11th, 1997, and am 5’11 and 185 pounds. I\'m a Point Guard, which matches my philosophy of always trying to see people achieve their goals and dreams. I recognize it\'s about the team and not me; I push others past their limitations to help them become better individuals as I do for myself. I am a man of God. I am a respectful, dedicated, ambitious, and very hardworking young man. I smile a lot. I genuinely have a good heart. I am a strong-willed person and athlete. I love to learn new things and help others who don’t have them. I strive my best to be a positive force, even in adverse situations. My basketball background has been, at times, both challenging and exhilarating. Due to family circumstances, I ended up attending three high schools. Although I earned positions on each of these high school basketball teams, I didn\'t play often due to a couple of challenges. First, these schools were some of the most competitive in the country, including Spring Grove (PA) with Eli Brooks (a best friend and University of Michigan standout), and South Cobb (GA), a traditional powerhouse. In addition, with the change in programs, it was difficult to cultivate a relationship with established players and coaches. I graduated from South Cobb with a GPA of 2.84.Unfortunately, I could not continue attending Oregon due to a physical issue. I suffered some sudden seizures, and my mother insisted I return to Georgia, where she could help me receive treatment. In 2021, I flatlined from a seizure, according to my mom, and last year, in October of 2022, I was on my deathbed from a suicide attempt. The bullet fragment missed my heart by a millimeter and my spine by a centimeter. The paramedics told me I died in the ambulance.
