As the Director of Emergency Response, I provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for key emergency services and programs within Tompkins County. My primary responsibilities include-Overseeing County 911 operations to ensure rapid and accurate emergency response communication-Managing the County Emergency Management Office, including the development and implementation of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery plans-Supervising County EMS services, ensuring timely, coordinated, and effective medical emergencies response-Leading the County Security Program to protect county facilities, personnel, and critical infrastructure-Maintaining and advancing the County’s 911 Radio Communication System to ensure reliable and secure communication during emergencies-Collaborating with first responders, government agencies, and community organizations to enhance overall emergency preparedness and response capabilities-Developing and executing training programs, emergency drills, and risk assessments to improve resilience and operational efficiency-Managing budgets, resources, and personnel across multiple divisions to maintain high standards of service and safety.
