ABOUT MICHAEL SCHOLL

I joined the Starkey team in February 2017 as Director of Government and Community Relations. Since then, I have had the pleasure of spearheading several high-profile initiatives.I led Starkey’s efforts in Washington, D.C. around over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. I worked to educate policymakers about the hearing health care model, mobilized hearing professionals around the nation to influence the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s final OTC regulations and helped elevate the public discussion about the importance of hearing health.Now as Starkey’s Chief Business Development Officer and EVP of Corporate Relations, I leverage years of leadership experience in the public and private sector to build relationships on behalf of Starkey. This includes government relations and public policy efforts related to state, federal and global legislative and regulatory priorities. It also includes Starkey’s efforts to build strategic partnerships with nonprofits, corporations and consumer organizations within the Twin Cities and beyond. I also lead the business development of SoundGear, Starkey’s industry-leading hearing protection technology, and the OTC marketplace. My role is to not only maintain these critical Starkey business units but also to look for opportunities to push our company forward. Before joining Starkey, I led a consulting firm based in the Twin Cities that specialized in providing strategic advice in the areas of coalition building, regulatory compliance, lobbying, government relations, message development and paid media.
