I serve as VP of Homestead at TrueRoll, where I partner with assessment professionals across the United States to help modernize the administration of property tax systems through data science, automation, and purpose-built technology.TrueRoll is best known for end-to-end homestead exemption administration, helping jurisdictions automatically vet new applications, monitor eligibility changes, and maintain fair and equitable tax rolls. Today, our platform has expanded beyond exemptions to support a broader set of document-driven workflows within assessor offices, including property transfer processing and other high-volume administrative processes. Leveraging purpose-built AI-powered OCR technology, our platform extracts and interprets key data from documents, automates validation and routing, and integrates results directly with CAMA systems. This reduces manual data entry, improves accuracy, and allows staff to focus on higher-value work serving residents.In my role, I work closely with assessors and industry leaders to implement these capabilities while also developing and supporting strategic partnerships with CAMA providers and other technology vendors across the property tax ecosystem. These collaborations help ensure automation and data solutions integrate seamlessly into the systems assessment offices rely on every day.Before joining TrueRoll, I founded Assessure Systems in 2010 and served as its President and CEO. Assessure was built around a simple idea: assessment professionals needed technology designed specifically for the realities of ad valorem tax administration.To address this, I created Verify™, a software platform that applied artificial intelligence and machine learning to exemption analysis. The system enabled jurisdictions to complete entire tax roll audits in a fraction of the traditional time while achieving significantly higher accuracy and return on investment. We later expanded the platform to support real-time exemption screening, allowing assessors to automatically evaluate new applications at the point of submission. During this time, I authored several patent applications related to the technology and regularly presented at assessment conferences across the country.Earlier in my career, I spent nearly two decades in mortgage lending where I developed a deep appreciation for efficient systems and processes. Recognizing the lack of modern data-management tools in the assessment field, I left lending to focus on building technology that helps jurisdictions administer property tax systems more effectively and fairly.
