ABOUT MICHAEL ROLLIN

Mike is a trial and appellate lawyer who handles complex civil litigation and serves as strategist and adviser to a wide variety of sophisticated businesses, including in the financial services and investment, construction, real estate, automotive, and pharmaceutical industries, among others. Mike applies his significant public service experience and education, including as a former police sergeant, in his representation of government entities and officials and as a police academy instructor. He is well versed in criminal, administrative, regulatory, use of force/self-defense, and firearms-related law.Mike practices regularly in Colorado, California, and New York, and appears in state and federal courts and in FINRA and arbitration nationwide. Mike is also a FINRA arbitrator. He has received numerous professional recognitions, including as a Law Week Colorado “Lawyer of the Year.”Some of Mike’s significant representations include:Litigating the fallout from the financial crisis, including as lead counsel to Lehman Brothers for mortgage-backed securities (RMBS)-related matters. Mike has defended more than $80 billion in RMBS and secondary market claims and has prosecuted thousands of claims against sellers of defective mortgage loans. Mike has also represented both institutional investors and investment banks in several multibillion-dollar RMBS trials, achieving, in one case, what the New York Post called “a whopping defeat” of an $11.4 billion claim.Protecting business brands, trade secrets, trademarks, and customer relationships in the financial services, medical device, pharmaceutical, environmental services, and other sectors, as well as enforcing and defending against non-compete and other unfair competition claims. Among other representations, Mike has served as lead national counsel to AIG companies both as a preventative strategist and as a litigator.Representing businesses, government entities, and individuals who are accused or are victims of fraud, theft, and other commercial misconduct. Defending companies, senior executives, and founders in disputes concerning corporate governance and business divorce and in internal investigations.
