Leading delivery of consenting and land acquisition strategies for major projects, especially NSIP/DCO schemes, for water, highways and energy sectors. Using my combined EIA, DCO, stakeholder engagement and project management experience to support clients on major project delivery and lead environmental and social due diligence reviews for major investors.DCO projects at Sweco include the A47 Corridor Improvement Schemes, now within post consent delivery stage, and the Cambridge Waste Water Treatment Plant Relocation Project application. Also led environmental and social due diligence reviews, including for offshore wind farm and international interconnector schemes.
ABOUT MICHAEL ROBINSON
Chartered Environmentalist with over 21 years’ experience as an Environmental Consultant and Project Manager in the engineering and environmental consultancy sector. My passion is to use my project management and leadership skills, informed by environmental assessment, consenting and stakeholder engagement technical knowledge and experience, to understand client end-use needs and deliver the right services required to meet their needs, not just their expectations. Through championing and facilitating collaborative working with clients, technical disciplines and external stakeholders I also deliver integrated solutions that maximise environmental net gain potential, within programme and budget. My career has given me experience of small and major projects (e.g. NSIP DCOs, hybrid bills) in the energy (transmission and generation), transport (rail and highways), buildings, food, industrial, water and flood risk management sectors. In addition, I have extensive team leadership, business development and resource management experience, which includes a NEC Framework Manager and Resource Manager for 80 EIA specialists then 400 environment business staff.I use this breadth of knowledge and experience plus understanding of the complex interconnectivity of whole life project delivery (from options stage to construction) to challenge default ways. It also enables me to raise awareness of project risks early and tailor project scopes, programmes and designs to proactively manage potential risks, delivering adding value in the process.
