As a Vice President for Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), Michael is responsible for all mental/brain health programs and innovation initiatives including: his role as Chairman of the Executive Steering Committee for the Warrior Care Network (WCN) which is comprised of four leading academic medical centers developing and providing innovative treatment for the invisible wounds; the Independence Program which provides extensive support to warriors suffering from moderate to severe brain injury, spinal cord injuries or other neurological conditions who are most at risk for being institutionalized; other mental health programs under our Combat Stress Recovery and Talk Programs; as well as research initiatives that have changed the dialogue in the veteran and mental health space. Under his leadership, the WCN was recognized by the American Psychiatric Association with their 2020 Gold Service Award.
