ABOUT MICHAEL AVERY

I am a quality minded individual with a foundation of continuous improvement, lean manufacturing,six sigma disciplines and root cause analysis. Strong team building skills have helped fuel my success in manufacturing, distribution and quality roles. I have led groups as small as three and as large as 85. We always find ways to meet and exceed goals. I have been successful by developing the individuals around me on my team. Helping them achieve team and personal goals, brings me joy in the workplace. I spend almost 20 years in production and distribution roles continually frustrated with the lack of quality control, performance standards and drive for continual improvement. After finishing my Six Sigma Green Belt training I felt I had a good foundation to begin making changes to what I could control. Later as a trained black belt projects became larger and more complex but the solutions often did not reach the level needed to truly move the process forward. In 2009 I was resigned to the quality group because as our GM put it \"you complained the most about quality\". That move opened my eyes and I was able to begin to affect change. After becoming certified as a Lean Belt I realized that the largest of problems are truly many lean problems rolled into one. Start pulling on the right string and the multiple failure points will begin to reveal themselves. Instead of fixing one issues I look at the entire process to get the most improvement out of that process and more importantly sustain the new standard.
