About Michael Quackenbush

Quackenbush men love their accounting. Sharing the same name as my father and grandfather, it felt it was only right that I share in their affinity for accounting. Fast forward to now and I am a junior on track graduate in the Spring of 2024 with my bachelor’s in Accounting and earn my CPA as well as Master’s in Accounting by 2025. Math, money, and numbers have always been my strong suit. I can remember enjoying sitting in my room counting the money I had saved up and then dividing it into groups based on the size of the bills. Math was always my favorite subject throughout grade school as I think I may have been one of the only students who took pleasure in the math flashcard quizzes we would take in elementary and middle school. Now, as I sit in my intermediate accounting class, I think about how I would do anything to go back to those quizzes instead of trying to figure out the journal entry for a complicated long-term bond payable. As I look for an internship, I hope to find a company that shares the same values as me. I believe in a strong work environment, where employees can work with each other as they try to achieve team-oriented goals, as well as an innovative environment where employees can work to find new solutions to modern problems. Although my previous work experience only includes being a server assistant and a camp counselor, I know the work ethic and skills gained from those jobs will translate to my professional career. I am excited to continue learning about my future profession while in college and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
