ABOUT MICHAEL PROKOPCHAK
With over 10 years of experience in cardiovascular surgery and humanitarian aid, I am a passionate and dedicated professional who strives to improve the health and well-being of people in need. As a cardiovascular surgeon at American Heart Association MENA, I perform complex and innovative procedures to treat cardiac conditions and complications, and conduct clinical research to advance the field of cardiovascular medicine. Previously, I worked as a humanitarian aid worker at International Medical Corps, where I provided emergency medical care and training to vulnerable populations affected by conflicts and disasters in various regions. I have also worked as a cardiologist and a cardiovascular specialist in different hospitals and clinics in the US, where I gained valuable skills and knowledge in diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of heart diseases. My core competencies include clinical research, humanitarian aid, hospitals, and cardiac surgery. I am motivated by the mission of AHA MENA to reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases and stroke in the Middle East and North Africa, and I am eager to contribute to their vision of a world where everyone lives longer and healthier lives. I believe that I can bring diverse perspectives and experiences to the team, as well as a strong commitment to excellence, collaboration, and compassion.
