ABOUT MICHAEL PENN

Michael A. Penn is a partner at Aitken Aitken Cohn. He specializes in litigation with an emphasis in wrongful death, products liability, and government liability.From 2014 through 2019, Michael Penn has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer by Los Angeles Magazine (and ranked in the top 50 for Orange County lawyers in 2016). He was previously named a Rising Star by the same publication for seven consecutive years. The Daily Journal named Michael Penn one of “five associates to watch” in their statewide publication on January 28, 2015. He has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2016.Michael Penn currently serves as Executive Vice Chairman on the Board of Governors for Chapman University and on the Board of Governors for the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Orange County. He also serves as Co-Chair of the Alana Cortese Elder Law Clinic at Chapman University\'s Fowler School of Law. Since 2006, Michael has served as an attorney coach for the Canyon High School Mock Trial Team in Anaheim and as a Board Member of the Selective Service for Region 3. Michael is a Past President of the Celtic Bar Association of Orange County (2014, 2015).Michael Penn obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science with an emphasis in international relations, graduating with honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1998. He studied abroad at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan, during his junior year (1996 to 1997). After graduation he returned to Tokyo and worked at Toyo Corporation. Michael obtained his Juris Doctorate degree from Chapman University School of Law in 2004, and was elected student commencement speaker.
