About Michael Pechart

Michael Pechart currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer at Sterman Masser, Inc, Keystone Potato Products and Masser Logistics Services. He joined the renowned, family owned and operated agribusiness in 2014 following a long career in public service and agricultural advocacy at the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau. As a public servant at the Department of Agriculture from 2003 through 2014, he was appointed by both Governor Corbett and Governor Rendell as Executive Deputy Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Agriculture. During his tenure at the Department, he also served as Acting Secretary of Agriculture, Agriculture Policy Director to the Governor, and Executive Assistant to the Secretary of Agriculture. With a robust background in agriculture, food retailing and marketing, operational management, public policy, budgeting and finance, strategic planning and leadership development, Pechart has helped grow Sterman Masser Inc. into one of the largest, fastest growing and most innovative potato grower/packer/shippers in the United States. Pechart holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Business Management from the Pennsylvania State University. He also developed his skills in leadership by participating and graduating from the Pennsylvania State University’s two year Rural Leadership Development Program (RULE). Pechart holds an Honorary National FFA Degree, and believes in developing the youth of our nation into the next generation of agricultural business leaders. He is committed to serving the interest of the agriculture industry in Pennsylvania and helping Sterman Masser Inc. transform the US potato industry, one spud at a time.
