I served in the Marine Corps for 24 years split between reserves and active duty.As a Chief Warrant Officer, I am the head of a department of aircraft maintainers. I\'ve led teams of over 30 Marines on deployments overseas, supported flight schedules with multiple detachments operating simultaneously in different countries, and planned and executed complex upgrades to sensitive aircraft systems. As subject matter experts, Chief Warrant Officers are the go-to people for answers and solutions and are looked to maintain standards and be the champions of working smarter and safer. The work of a Marine aircraft squadron is defined by walking the line between maintaining performance under high operational tempo, managing limited resources, and taking care of its Marines. As a result, I am never quite as challenged nor humbled as when working alongside other Marines.
