About Michael Parnes

I am a 4th-year student at The University of Georgia, majoring in Psychology with a Neuroscience Emphasis on the Pre-Dental Track. I am passionate about pursuing a career in dentistry and serving underserved communities. I have earned multiple honors for my academic excellence, such as the Zell Miller Scholarship, UGA Interfraternity Need-Based Scholarship, UGA Suit-Up Scholarship, and Dean\'s List. Currently working as a Pediatric Dental Assistant for Help a Child Smile helping children with poor access to dental care in various underserved areas of Georgia. Also involved in volunteer work at Mercy Health Center as a Dental Assistant for low-income patients in the Athens area and for MATHCOUNTS Outreach @ UGA, where I mentor Athens-area elementary and middle school students to enhance their mathematical comprehension and problem-solving abilities. Additionally, I served as the Vice President of Finance and Operations at JSTEM UGA, leading financial and operational strategies to nurture academic and professional growth for Jewish STEM students at UGA.
