I manage low to medium-scale Department of Energy fundedprojects and act as the prime technical contact in stakeholderand sponsor interactions.Developed a data acquisition system for light and medium dutyvehicle applications using on-board diagnosis and CAN. Amicrocontroller, connected to the vehicle’s CAN bus, is leveragedto send vehicle-specific data to an Android phone. A customdeveloped Android application handles the communication withthe microcontroller through WiFi as well as simultaneouslycaptures images with the phone’s rear camera and runs objectdetection on the captured images leveraging Google’s TensorflowLight. The dataset, consisting of vehicle and phone-based data, aswell as images with detected objects is uploaded to a cloudservice in real-time.Analysis and visualization of large datasets ranging from light toheavy-duty vehicle-based data. The analysis includes but is notlimited to statistical modeling and estimation of states influencingdriving behavior and energy consumption.
