As UX Engineering & Design System Manager at Regions Bank I am responsible for a team of three UX Engineers, a UI Designer, and a Content Strategist whose primary responsibility is building and maintaining the design system for the bank\'s digital products and platforms. I am responsible for defining the roadmap for the design system, managing the backlog, and prioritizing the team\'s tasks, as well as promoting and evangelizing the design system in order to increase adoption. In lieu of a dedicated Project Manager for the team, I also manage our Jira board and backlog, lead our daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and retros. I developed a UX Engineering ladder that is used to level-set the developers in that role across a variety of responsibilities and expectations. I also lead our UX Engineering Guild to ensure the team stays abreast of current topics in front-end development. Other responsibilities include- Direct scope of systems concerns and relevant products to adopt it - Coordinate with UX Channel Managers and designers to determine system needs - Decisively resolve priorities, timelines, risks, task importance, and potential breaking changes - Identify, monitor, and report on system use across the enterprise - Clarify scope to balance delivering minimum useful functionality with properly scalable system design - Lead weekly office hours to foster discussions with those using the system - Facilitate team planning sessions, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies - Deliver system releases at a predictable cadence - Review library docs for editorial quality, consistency, and usefulness - Conduct weekly one-on-one reviews with team members to identify successes, challenges, perspectives, and preferences - Identify and nurture team growth and culture, identifying opportunities for team members to drive and lead system aspects
