ABOUT MICHAEL OLASUNKANMI AJANA

My research is in the interface of Chemical engineering, Physics and Quantum Nanomaterials; As a Chemical Engineer, I develop new sustainable process flow technology to synthesize, characterize and scale up nanomaterials and quantum dots. As a Physicist, I model scintillator materials from Zero dimensional quantum nanocrystal frameworks for High-Energy Physics scattering experiment (the focus of my PhD), with good knowledge in Quantum field theory and quantum computing.Quantum Technologies- utilisation of nanomaterials like photonic QDs for Quantum Technology applications, such as; quantum sensing, biomoleculer sensors and quantum computing QD arrays with nanofabrication (early stage).Experience highlights:• Graduate-level researcher, University of Jos: Developed strong fundamentals in research design, literature review, and clear communication of complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.• 2024 European School of High-Energy Physics Immersive training with thirty lectures and nine discussion sessions covering core topics in particle physics and detector technology.• Design, synthesis and characterisation of photonic quantum systems and experiment for HEP, biomedical and environmental application. What I bring:• Cross-disciplinary thinking grounded in scientific method• Strong analytical reasoning and problem framing• Ability to turn complex findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders• Curiosity, persistence, and a bias for measurable results.Interests and open to:Research pathways and Teaching roles in Manufacturing, high-energy physics, quantum sensing, nanoscale materials and devices, particle-detector R&D, and technology intelligence/foresight. If your team sits where deep science meets real-world application, let’s talk.
