   Michael’s connection to the furniture industry began early, spending high school summers painting elevator shafts at International Market Square, where his father served as President. After high school, his family relocated to Los Angeles, where his father managed the Pacific Design Center and later concluded his career at the Merchandise Mart. Despite the move, Michael chose to remain in the Midwest, earning his degree from UW-Eau Claire. It was there that he met Kara, his wife of over 30 years.With a deep-rooted family background in the industry—his father’s legacy and two older brothers already established in the field—a career in office furniture was a natural path for Michael. After a brief post-college experience in the home mortgage industry, he was recruited by his older brother into dealer sales. In Michael joined Witthus & Associates, where his expertise and dedication have significantly contributed to the company’s growth. As of January 2025, Michael has taken the reins of Witthus & Associates, rebranding it as Norfolk Contract. This new venture marks an exciting evolution in his professional journey, building on decades of experience and a lifelong connection to the industry.
