About Michael Muldowney
As founder and Chief Executive Officer of Foxford Capital, a strategic, financial advisory and investment management firm, Michael leads the growth of this boutique business serving investment banks, hedge funds, mutual funds, family offices, and private equity groups. He is also the managing member of Waterville Investment Partners which is the management company to a late-stage venture credit fund. Previously as Chief Financial Officer, Investment & Executive Committee member of Gordon Brothers, he worked closely with all business units on transactional, strategic, financial and operational initiatives. Mr. Muldowney brings to Foxford Capital over 30 years of global experience and strategic planning, operational improvement, and cost optimization. He is a guest lecturer at Harvard Business School for the course “Creating Value through Corporate Restructuring.” Prior to founding Foxford Capital, he served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of global education leader, Houghton Mifflin, where he led the merger of Houghton Mifflin and Harcourt as well as one of the largest, out-of-court balance sheet restructurings of its kind. Earlier in his career, Mr. Muldowney held various positions, including President, at Nextera Enterprises, Partner at Oliver Wyman, and various management positions at Marsh & McLennan Companies. Mr. Muldowney earned his BA in Accounting from St. Ambrose University and is a former Certified Public Accountant. He served as a trustee and on the board of directors of various public and philanthropic organizations, including Veritiv (where he was a member of the audit and compensation committees), St Sebastian\'s School, Cathedral High School, and the Prostate Cancer FoundationMichael also served as an Executive Committee member and on the Board of the Association of American Publishers. He has appeared in the ABC reality television show “Shark Tank”. He was named among the Top 100 U.S. business executives by Irish American Magazine.
