ABOUT MICHAEL MENDONCA

Michael Mendonca is the Senior Director of Water Services, a division of Salt River Project (SRP), the third largest public power utility in the nation. Annually we deliver acre feet of raw water to 10 cities and agricultural and irrigation customers in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Dating back to 1903 we have maintained a commitment to our customers throughout the Valley to safely deliver sustainable, reliable and affordable water through a system comprised of 1,300 miles of canals and laterals.I am proud and humbled to lead this team of employees who are devoted to the important role they each play in serving our customers. This devotion is a consistent and compelling example of what makes SRP unique. My career journey with SRP has spanned over two decades. Prior to this current position, I led a diverse team of professionals as their Senior Director, Power Customer Services. Our corporate efforts included billing system replacements, advanced metering infrastructure rollouts, culture change resulting in increased customer satisfaction, and redesign and implementation of the nation’s largest utility prepay program. The underpinnings for my pursuit of lifelong learning have included Bachelor of Science degrees in both Computer Information Systems and Marketing as well as an MBA in Marketing. But … I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that the best lessons are what I learn everyday by keeping top of mind to be incrementally better tomorrow than I am today! On a personal note, I’m married to my beautiful wife of over 20 years with three children and one granddaughter … and a very spoiled and much loved West Highland Terrier, Coconut.Quote to live by: “Love your family, work super hard, live your passion.” ― Gary Vaynerchuk
