Provide oversight and management of the North Carolina Center for Engineering Technologies (NCCET) staff, programs, facility and equipment to meet the engineering related workforce development needs of the region.• Participate in community events throughout the region in an effort to enhance the position and reputation of Appalachian State University and the NCCET. Serve as a liaison between the greater Hickory area and Appalachian State University.• Partner with the community college system to seek opportunities for credit and non-credit programming that meets the needs of the regional business community. Initiated and led a regional effort to meet the demand for skilled construction workers in the area, which has led to the creation of the Construction Academy at Catawba Valley Community College schedule to start in August 2018. • Deliver science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) training and programming to the region by working with local school systems, the N.C. Community College System, and the UNC System.• Manage summer Innovation (STEM) Camps to engage elementary, middle and high school students in engineering related technologies, projects and theories. Develop new instructional offerings to meet the future workforce demands of the local business community. Developed a Builders Camp to teach construction science programming to future high school students in an effort to prepare qualified candidates for the Construction Academy and the local construction industry.
