About Michael McHale

As Trial Counsel at Andrews, Bernstein and Maranto, my practice focuses on personal injury matters involving construction site, workplace, and automobile accidents; premise liability actions, professional malpractice, and general negligence claims. Prior to joining ABM, I devoted the first thirty years of my professional career to public service with the Erie County District Attorney\'s Office and as Counsel to two New York State Supreme Court Justices. I have prosecuted and tried cases including capital murder, sex offenses, gang violence,narcotics trafficking, white collar crime, and DWI. I have written dozens of appellate briefs and argued before New York\'s intermediate appellate courts. I also served as the District Attorney\'s Counsel to the Buffalo Police Department, and as a lecturer at the Central Police Services Training Academy and the Buffalo Public Schools\'\"Stop DWI\" and \"Career Day\" programs. As Counsel to Supreme Court, I negotiated hundreds of settlements on a variety of civil matters including Labor Law actions, premises and general negligence claims, and discrimination complaints brought by the New York State Division of Human Rights. While in law school, I coached football at my high school alma mater, St. Joseph\'s Collegiate Institute. In 1991, I received a New York State Provisional Teacher\'s Certification from D\'Youville College. In 2009 I was the co-Chair of the Erie County Legislature\'s \"21st Century Commission\", and the primary author of its report recommending the Legislature\'s downsizing. I have also worked on several political campaigns as an adviser and speech writter. I have been a little league football and basketball coach. I am a former member of the St.Joseph\'s Collegiate Institute\'s Board of Alumni Directors and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. I was born and raised in Buffalo, and have been married to my beautiful wife for twenty-five years. We have been blessed with three wonderful children and a Golden Doodle named Quincy. I\'m also an amateur military historian and Classicist, and member of Our Lady of the Rosary parish in South Buffalo.
