Michael currently serves in two roles, supporting the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of Burden Reduction and Health Informatics. He is the Project Director for a policy and strategy program focused on health care data interoperability; and is the Project Manager for a multi-engagement Human-Centered Design project. In both roles he is the primary point of contact for government clients, and is responsible and accountable for execution of all program work. He maintains awareness of and manages all program tasks, including scoping, status, and timelines; and oversees program work and quality assurance. Michael leads, consults, and/or supports staff across both delivery teams and is responsible for monitoring risk, while also managing program resources, including budget and personnel.Michael was previously the Delivery Manager for a CMS Medicaid program, conducting state Medicaid eligibility reviews. He manages teams conducting reviews across a concurrent, three year, 17 state per year cycle for all aspects of program delivery, including: eligibility case reviews, stakeholder communications, system development and integration, quality assurance, and program processes and procedures.Michael previously served as Project Manager for a CMS Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI) software development program, which involved the development of an application to read Medicare claims and determine associated payments for different episodes of care. Michael also previously led policy analysis and operational support programs with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), the Federal Housing Administration (FHA), the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
