   The Category Vice President is responsible for establishing and implementing national category strategies including commodity management, strategic sourcing, contract lifecycle management, supplier relationship management, sales forecasting, and financial planning for the given commodity within E&I’s national portfolio. Development of the strategy includes market research and analysis, market opportunity forecast, identification of supplier landscape, informing the sourcing plan, and the pre-sale of opportunities to potential supply base to generate interest. The Vice President, Category Management is also responsible for effectively managing a team of Sourcing & Contract Managers to execute and achieve the goals and objectives of the category through sourcing best practices. This position plays an active role with cross-departmental teams, participating in strategic initiatives and proposing innovative solutions to problems of medium to high complexity.The Vice President, Category Management oversees and supports the Sourcing Manager(s) through contract acquisition, strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contracting processes to ensure they successfully carry out the category strategy and are completed in compliance with E&I’s policies and procedures. Likewise, the Vice President, Category Management supports the Business Partnership Manager(s) to ensure a successful contract rollout, and to monitor the contract management, performance management, supplier relationship management processes to ensure the contract and supplier are meeting the needs of the E&I membership, and the sales and financial plan for the contract are being met or exceeded. The Vice President, Category Management provides leadership, coaching, and process support to meet all performance and operational objectives as well as works closely with Strategic Sourcing Analysts to develop data-driven category strategies and identify potential sourcing opportunities.
