I am a pension and governance expert with over 24 years of consulting and regulatory experience in both the public and private sectors in Canada and the United States. My areas of expertise include pension plan governance, the interpretation of pension legislation, supporting pension committees, plan documentation and policy development, pension research and fiduciary training, and stakeholder outreach and consultation. My years with the Financial Services Commission of Ontario and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario have provided me with a keen insight into regulatory oversight and legislative development. My years in private pension consulting have fostered a goals-oriented work style, excellent project management skills, and a strong focus on customer service and satisfaction. My abilities as a communicator who listens allows me to understand complex issues and then explain them to a diverse audience. I have considerable experience presenting before pension and investment boards, pension committees, stakeholder groups, and industry associations, and am a regular presenter at pension industry conferences, educational seminars and workshops. I received my combined Juris Doctorate / MBA degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and the Schulich School of Business, and have a Bachelor of Arts and Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. I have served on various community boards and committees, including the Kehilla Residential Programme Board of Directors, Toronto Free Loan Cassa (Lending Committee), Hands On Toronto (Co-Chair) and a Montessori school board of directors.
