Taught Family Law: Parent and Child for the Spring 2025 semester.Family Law: Parent and Child is a survey course that introduces students to the fundamental concepts of family law as it pertains to the legal regulation of the relationship of parent and child. The topics covered in the course include the right to privacy and reproductive autonomy, the rights of unmarried parents and their children, child welfare law, the foster care system, termination of parental rights, autonomy rights of children, adoption, and assisted reproductive technologies and statutory authority related to same.This course provided regular and substantive student-instructor interaction on a weekly basis by engaging students in teaching, learning and assessment through the following: direct instruction, providing feedback on student work, providing information about course content, facilitating discussion of course content, using student small working groups that are moderated by the instructor, and other substantive interaction.
