ABOUT MICHAEL KURLIAK
I’ve built my career at the intersection of policy, politics, and public service—helping Ministers, Members of Parliament, and political campaigns navigate complex challenges with strategy and impact.Currently, I serve as a Senior Advisor to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada on a range of policy and regional political issues. Previously, I advised the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities on homelessness, Indigenous housing, and social housing, and the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship on asylum, refugee resettlement, and the Ukraine response.Alongside policy, I’ve led electoral field operations and campaign teams, managing hundreds of volunteers and delivering results in high-pressure environments. My strengths include policy development, stakeholder engagement, campaign leadership, and communications. At the core of my work is a commitment to effective, people-focused public service. If you’re working on big ideas, tough challenges, or just want to chat over coffee, I’d love to connect.
