ABOUT MICHAEL KUNKLE
I am currently the Assistant Director of Engineering for Railcar Programs for PRT(Pittsburgh Regional Transit, formerly known as the Port Authority of Allegheny County.) I have worked for PRT for 17 years but have been working in Transportation for over 22 years. I have held positions related to Railcar Engineering and Maintenance for most of my career and spent 4 years in Bus Maintenance and Service. Additionally, I worked for car builders (CAF) and sub-system suppliers (Bombardier.) I hold an Associates degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from ITT and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Finance. In addition to being an APTA member, I currently hold the position of Chair for the Rail Transit Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Standards Group and Chair for the Rail Standards Policy and Planning Committee. I am also a member of the Standards Development Oversight Council. I played Ice Hockey for 2 semesters in college at the University of Pittsburgh and continue to enjoy playing both ice and roller hockey.
