About Michael Klautzsch
Ever since I was a little kid, I have always been on the go and had a passion for the outdoors. I have always had abnormal amounts of energy, in fact, my parents had to keep me on a child leash when they took me out in public so I wouldn\'t get myself lost. I would spend my days waking up at the crack of dawn just so I could go outside and play before school and then coming home and going straight outside again until the sunset. Now I am 23 years of age and have just as much energy as I did when I was a child.Luckily, I have learned how to channel it into the things I love. I still spend just as much time outdoors as I did while growing up. I fill my time doing the things I love most in life, whether it be competing in freestyle snowboarding, shredding in the Oregon backcountry, downhill mountain biking on the trails in Whistler BC, or backpacking and overloading basically anywhere else. While enjoying the outdoors, I have also kept up with my academics. Education has always been important to me. I am entering my last year at Oregon State University Cascades majoring in Energy Systems Engineering. When in school, I always give my absolute best effort on the projects I do. I believe that this work ethic will directly translate to the workforce. I have found ways to better manage my time so that I can perform well academically, and still live my life outside. I am very excited to enter a new chapter in my life and to see what comes next.Snowboarding has been a huge part of my life. I have been competing since I was in 5th grade. In the last few years, I had the opportunity to travel around the world and compete in various high level freestyle competitions. While traveling from place to place, I somehow managed to keep moving toward obtaining my degree in Engineering. I found a way to manage my time in a very efficient way that let me succeed in both snowboarding and my education.
