ABOUT MICHAEL JUNGWIRTH

I hold a dual role at Vodafone, serving as a Member of the German Executive Board based in Düsseldorf and as Public Policy Director for Vodafone Group in London. As a Member of the Executive Board of Vodafone Germany, I lead high‑performing teams across Public Affairs and Government Relations, Regulatory, Corporate Communications, and ESG, with end‑to‑end profit and loss responsibility for the German business. Our mission is to ensure that Vodafone is a trusted, dynamic, and innovation‑driven partner to governments, institutions, and the millions of people who rely on our networks every day. In my Group role, I am responsible for international public policy topics, with a particular focus on creating competitive advantages across different markets. With more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and digital policy space, and supported by a master’s degree in international business, I combine a strong P&L mindset with a proven track record of delivering results in external affairs – both in Germany and in an international context. My focus is on anticipating what’s next: identifying regulatory and political shifts early, translating them into strategic opportunities, and empowering teams to execute with speed, clarity, and determination. Externally, I represent Vodafone in leading industry bodies and associations and serve as the elected President of the Düsseldorf Business Association, representing around 2,200 companies – including DAX-listed firms – and approximately employees. As I strongly believe that academic education makes a significant difference, I also lecture at the University of Linz – my alma mater – where I am committed to developing young talent and supporting future leaders.I split my time between London, Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Vienna. Outside of work, I recharge through road cycling, visiting wineries, and spending time with my family. These moments remind me what leadership ultimately comes down to: people, perspective, and purpose. That is why my motto is: Don’t dream it! Do it!
