ABOUT MICHAEL JONES
Mike is Chief Engineer for PNT at Roke, and a Principal Consultant Engineer. His skills include navigation, sensing, communications and electronic warfare, with particular specialist interest in protected PNT systems and Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR). He has designed and developed many of the world\'s GNSS anti-jam systems (CRPA technology), along with direction-finding, situational awareness, and so on. He holds a Master’s degree in electronic engineering with avionics from the University of York, and the Racal prize for avionics.He has detailed technical knowledge of GNSS anti-jam and anti-spoof systems (including the world\'s first true anti-spoof technology for the GPS and Galileo open codes), and was jointly responsible for the development of a number of navigation protection systems utilising interference cancellation, adaptive beamforming and direction finding. His technology is in service on a variety of MoD and DoD platforms around the world. In addition to GNSS protection, he also has deep expertise in GNSS receivers, eLoran receivers, eLoran signal generation, and LEO satellite positioning.In 2015 Mike was made a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation, in recognition of significant and sustained contribution to the field of Navigation Warfare, and a Fellow of the IET in 2019.
