WORK HISTORY
Sports Physical Therapist @Connecticut Children's
Farmington, CT, US
As a Sports Physical Therapist at Connecticut Children’s, I provide individualized, evidence-based care for young athletes recovering from overuse and traumatic injuries, with a strong focus on injury prevention and performance optimization. I collaborate closely with each child’s multidisciplinary care team to develop personalized treatment plans that support a safe, timely, and confident return to sport.I perform comprehensive evaluations and ongoing assessments to guide rehabilitation, including testing mobility, strength, coordination, aerobic capacity, balance, vision, and neck function—particularly for athletes recovering from concussion. Based on these findings, I design and progress customized rehabilitation programs that may include balance, vision, neck strengthening, endurance training, and sport-specific exercises, complemented by home exercise programs and follow-up care.My clinical practice incorporates advanced therapeutic interventions such as blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy, dry needling, and instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) to safely restore strength, reduce pain, address soft tissue restrictions, and improve functional movement when traditional training methods are limited. I also guide athletes through structured return-to-sport programs, including interval throwing programs and comprehensive functional testing, to objectively assess readiness for athletic participation. In addition to hands-on treatment, I prioritize education and communication—engaging athletes, families, coaches, and physicians throughout the rehabilitation process to encourage active participation, informed decision-making, and long-term athletic health.
