About Michael Jay Rune
After years of big law, I started my own firm, Rune Law PLLC. My focus is now on ADR, although I continue to serve some long-term clients and co-counsel in large complex construction disputes. I serve as a mediator, private trial judge, and arbitrator for construction and commercial litigation disputes.I received my B.A, cum laude, from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991 and my J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in Birmingham in 1995. My practice has focused on construction related matters since 1997. I am a member of the Florida and Texas bars. I’m a Florida Certified Construction lawyer and Mediator. When not on the clock, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children traveling around Florida and beyond.

After almost decade as a partner in AM Law 200 Law Firms, I have returned to my roots at a boutique practice. While still represent a limited number of long-term clients in the construction industry, at Rune Law PLLC-Resolution, I\'m focused on ADR. After over 25 years as a litigator, I realize what most client\'s really want, even if it may take some time to get there, is resolution of their dispute. I am actively accepting assignments and serving as a mediator, private trial judge and arbitrator in construction and commercial cases. I mediate construction (disputes and defects), commercial litigation, and insurance related matters (including coverage and first party property). I do not accept any assignments related auto, medical, or life insurance related matters, or BI insurance coverage. Some of my more significant representations over the last 25 years include the following matters: • an international general contractor in more than 140 cases involving disputes with owners, subcontractors, and condominium association concerning payment, delay claims, change-order claims, and construction defects.• a post-tension subcontractor in complex litigation involving a partial garage collapse in Jacksonville, Florida.• a statewide general contractor in complex litigation involving a partial garage collapse in Miami-involving over $100M property damage and PI claims• the FDIC, as receiver, for failed banks in more than 40 federal lawsuits.• condominium associations in successful recovery in post completion defect cases. My years of experience in all aspects of construction give me a unique perspective to assist parties in resolving their dispute. There\'s no need to explain what a change order dispute, a delay claim or a defect issue means in the context of your litigation or arbitration. I endeavor to approach every mediation or ADR setting as I did as a litigator prepared and ready to get the job done. Should you have any question do not hesitate to ask-Rune
