Leading the development, construction and operation of a $1.4 Billion, 1600 km transmission line project owned by the Wataynikaneyap Power LP, a licensed transmission partnership owned by 24 First Nations communities (51%) and Fortis Inc (49%). The transmission project will reinforce transmission supply to NW Ontario and provide a connection to 17 remote First Nation communities, currently serviced by diesel generation. An unprecedented undertaking, the Province of Ontario has designated this as a priority project and Wataynikaneyap Power as the transmitter to carry out the project.

ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON
Michael has over twenty five years of experience in energy infrastructure design and construction in the Electric Power, Oil and Gas Storage and Pipeline Industries. In 1997, Michael joined TransCanada Corporation where he held leadership roles and gained valuable experience in gas transmission construction and pipeline operations. Michael has held various industry board and association memberships, such as the Construction Owners Association of Alberta and the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta. From 2004 to 2017, Michael has been President of Grid Energy Services which provided services to the power generation, transmission and pipeline industries in the areas of regulatory applications, permitting, engineering, procurement and construction of capital projects. Michael recently completed the project and construction management for an $800 million transmission project for AltaLink to interconnect new wind power in SE Alberta.
