Michael received a Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from Washburn University in 2004, and a Juris Doctorate (with honors) from Washburn University School of Law in 2007. He has been licensed to practice law in Kansas since 2007 when he started his career with the Wichita defense firm of Klenda, Mitchell, Austerman & Zuercher, LLC. Michael is a trial lawyer, an award-winning published author, and has successfully settled and litigated many multi-million dollar cases. In 2014, Michael was named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers list, as well as the “Top 40 under 40″ list for the NTL. In 2012 and 2013, Michael was named to the Rising Stars list published in Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers magazine to recognize distinguished attorneys under 40, an honor that is awarded to no more than 2.5% of the lawyers in the state of Kansas. Michael has also received the distinguished AVVO perfect rating for client communication, responsiveness, effectiveness, and value. He focuses his practice in the law of negligence, including wrongful death, automobile / trucking accidents, catastrophic injury, products liability, nursing home neglect, and premises liability. Michael serves in his local church, as well as on the executive board for the Kansas Association of Justice. Michael is licensed in Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Colorado State and Federal Courts. He is an executive board member of the Kansas Association for Justice, the Kansas Bar Association, the Reno County Bar Association, and the Wichita Bar Association. Mike was recognized by KC Magazine in 2012 and 2013 as one of Missouri and Kansas’ Top Attorneys and Outstanding Young Lawyers in personal injury law.
