About Michael Cummins

I work with IT leaders navigating a shift in how work gets done as the VDI landscape shifts and AI adoption accelerates. As compute demands become more elastic, workloads less predictable, and endpoints more diverse, many organizations are rethinking where work should run and how it’s delivered to users. At Nerdio, I help organizations to design and operate modern virtual workspace strategies using Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, and Intune. My focus is on moving teams away from legacy VDI thinking toward flexible DaaS models that balance performance, cost, and operational simplicity. With automation and data-driven cost optimization, organizations often reduce total cost of ownership by 50–80% while improving user experience and manageability. In my personal life, I have an incredible wife whom I married in November 2024. We have two dogs and two cats who our lives very much revolve around. As far as hobbies go, I collect/trade watches (primarily vintage), am an avid golfer and golf equipment nerd, and spend several hours each week lifting weights at a historic gym in my beloved hometown of Austin, TX.
