ABOUT MICHAEL HUGHES
I\'m the Paint Operations Manager at JLR Halewood and began my career at the plant in 1990 as a technical apprentice with Ford Motor Company. I have 35 years of diverse experience in an award-winning automotive plant, holding numerous leadership and technical roles across various technology areas, including Trim and Final, Body Construction, Quality, and Logistics.In my current role I\'m responsible for the Paint manufacturing enterprise, ensuring modern luxury finishes for the award-winning Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Discovery Sport models. Beyond my core responsibilities, I chair the Motorvate committee, an employee program dedicated to making a lasting impact in local communities and sponsor various growth and development projects within the JLR community, including fostering relationships with local universities.I\'ve volunteered with the Liverpool City Region\'s growth platform for 3+ years and serve as a board member for advanced manufacturing cluster. I\'m married with three children and live in Halton. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, motorsports, running, travel, and reading.
