Experience

  1. Lead Etl Analyst

    Connecticut Children's

    Jan 2019 — Present

Built ETL process and visualization using Epic Billing and ADT data to alert managers to unbilled ED and ICU daily bed charges. Process has been in production since 2018 and continues to identify billing opportunities.* Building ETL process and SQL database that merges data about Connecticut Children’s employees/providers from five sources to create a single-source view of this information.* Using SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services to build clinical research datasets. Current datasets cover Cancer and Fetal Cardiology patients, and include historical demographic, diagnostic, assessment, lab, and medication data.* Building metadata-based system that uses Epic Registries, Diagnosis Groupers, and Medication Groupers to extract detailed data on patients meeting various clinical criteria. System is designed so that new criteria can be quickly defined using metadata; goal is to minimize turnaround time for detailed data on various cohorts of patients.* Working with teammates to develop time-sensitive reporting/analytics on suspected and confirmed COVID-19 cases in hospital. System uses Epic Encounter, Procedure Order, Lab Result, Diagnosis, and Infection data.* Played a central role in creating a high-level executive reporting system that uses SQL Server database objects, SSIS, and SSRS to combine Epic and non-Epic data into a centralized view of critical metrics across CT Children\'s Medical Center. Metrics include patient volumes, high-level financial indicators, and patient satisfaction from Press Ganey data.* Assisting with training and mentoring of team\'s new SQL Server and QlikView developers.* Using QlikView and SQL Server to design application that identifies hospital encounters and DRGs where patients\' actual lengths of stay have exceeded Medicaid Geometric Mean Length of Stay. Application identifies individual encounters and which DRGs most regularly exceed Medicaid guidelines.
